Home Sales Sunnier as Buying Season Approaches

Another sign things are looking up in the housing market. "Sales of previously occupied homes are at their highest level since May 2010."

There's an increased of 1st time buyers making home purchases and combine that with the supply of homes falling last month to its lowest point in nearly seven years. This could push home prices higher.

Sales have risen significantly over the past six months. "The trend is clearly upward," said Ian Shepherdson, chief U.S. economist at High Frequency Economics. The National Association of Realtors said Wednesday that re-sales increased 4.3 percent last month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.57 million.
